Hello, and welcome to Adventure-Zen, my name is Robert B. Guthrie, and I am an avid adventurer, climber, and photographer based in Niwot, Colorado, a high desert community nested at the base of the Front Range Mountains. Throughout my life I have traveled the world, exploring some of the planet’s most storied locations, where I capture the beauty of nature in high-resolution images that I am pleased to share with you.
From the frigid planes of Antarctica to the warm shores of West Africa, from the high mountains of Tibet to the low beaches of Puerto Rico, and numerous places in between, I bring you unique images designed to inspire a sense of wonder for the natural world, as well as an appreciation for the diverse people that inhabit it. Together we will journey from base camp, well above the tree line, to where the air is thin and cold, taking step by careful step up the side of snow covered cliffs until we reach breathtaking heights with scenic views of rocky crags, rushing streams, and crevasses that split the mountainside into shards of rock and ice for thousands of feet.

Join me on the adventures of a lifetime as we travel, through the lens of my camera, around the world to some of the most celebrated and remote destinations the planet has to offer. From the urban waterways of Russia, past storied temples, to the arid outback of Australia, viewing monolithic stone, to the crowded boat docks of Africa, where villagers fish, to the high peaks of South America, citing snow-capped peaks, and back to the United States, were industry past and present blur.
